Calling all Salt Lake City food lovers! The local dining scene is growing, with fun new restaurants opening their doors. From local favorites to reimagined historic landmarks to internationally acclaimed chains making their Utah debut, these six new establishments are adding some vibrant flavors and chill vibes to our states culinary scene. From charcoal-fired specialties in a sophisticated former train depot, to farmers market fluffy homemade cinnamon rolls new in a brick and mortar, here are six new SLC restaurants that deserve a spot on your must-try list.

Rouser
Located inside the new Asher Adams hotel (which was the old Union Pacific Depot), this is a great place to go if you’re trying to impress. Think vinyal bar, whiskey counter, charcoal fired food.

Atomic Biscuit
This brunch restaurant is in the old building of Pig & a Jelly Jar (sad to see you go Pig). The portions are large and they have a self-serve jam bar with flavors like sweet potato chai and mango rosemary.
They did a soft opening Monday, December 16 2024, and are now officially open for business

bb.q Chicken
KFC was born in Utah and is now all around the world. But a new k.f.c. restaurant is in town we’re talking Korean Fried Chicken. bb.q Chicken in South Salt Lake is part of a huge worldwide chicken family. Founded in Korea in 1995, expanded to America in 2014, the have 3,500 locations worldwide.
Favorites include the honey garlic wings which are crunchy, saucy and of course garlicky.

Avenue Bakery on Fourth
Avenue Bakery in American Fork that just opened its second location in the Avenues in SLC. Cupcakes, cakes, pastries, they have a lot to chose from.
It’s 100% gluten-free too!

The Dough Lady
The fluffiest cinnamon rolls, Dough Lady just opened their first brick-and-mortar shop in Millcreek.
Any started the bakery out of her townhome 4 years ago.
They did popups and catering and frozen take a bakes. She just kept baking and this holiday season, opened their brick and mortar!

Slice House
Slice House by Tony Gemignani is the new pizza place in town. Tony is a 13-time world pizza champion. Originating from San Francisco’s North Beach neighborhood, Slice House provides a diverse menu from signature New York, Detroit, Grandma-style (pan-fried thin crust), and Sicilian style pizzas.
Recognized as one of the top pizza chains nationwide, Slice House is located in the Foothill neighborhood of Salt Lake City
